Badminton

Badminton is open to any student, and no previous experience is required. It is a sport many students play for enjoyment, as it is easy to learn.

St Andrew’s College enters teams in the Wednesday inter-schools’ competition, which is held after school during Terms 2 and 3.

The top boys’ and girls’ teams have the opportunity to play in sports exchanges and the Canterbury championships. St Andrew’s has students each year who gain Canterbury selection.

Our coaches and managers have extensive experience in badminton. Practices are in Gym 1 on Tuesdays after school, with games on Wednesdays after school at St Andrew’s and various other Christchurch schools.

Successes

In 2020 and 2019, our Senior Girls' badminton team won gold at the Canterbury Interschool Tournament.
